Auto braking issue

Hi,
I am new to the forum having just picked up my brand new V90 Cross Country in Australia.
I drove it home and had lots of trouble when I stopped in a car park. The car wouldn't move as if the park brake had remained engaged. Eventually it released and I was able to drive home. Then I went on another small drive and when I got home I got a warning message telling me to take it back for a service, indicating the city-safe collision avoidance system signal and when I got out there was strong brakes smell. I am thinking the auto braking mechanism was still engaged or something. Can someone help please? Thank you.
