Hello,
My Volvo dealer has diagnosed that my AOC = Automated On-demand Coupling is leaking, but that the seal is not available separately and that therefore the whole AOC needs to be replaced at a cost of about $8,000! Do you have alternative & as good but more reasonable alternatives?

I bet you it is available separately. After all, how did Volvo manufacture it in the first place? Try seeking the advice of a Haldex and/or transmission specialist.

Yes that makes sense doesn't it... I contacted IPD, and also Volvo USA's Customer Service.

Volvo dealers do not rebuild transmission components, they just replace them. That’s why they tell you they can only fit a new one.

You need to go to an independent transmission / diff / handed garage and they will help you much more than Volvo can.

Bringing an old thread from the dead...Did you ever get your AOC repaired/replaced? If you didn't just for the sake of people that potentially search out the answer for this same problem, where was it leaking? Was it leaking from the AOC pump itself? Or was it the housing seals?
