I need to replace the alternator on my 2007 Volvo XC90, 3.2 L, AWD. I cannot find if I need the 150A, or 180A ? I have even searched by VIN, and both 150 and 180 are listed. How do I know which one I need? Can you damage the electrical system if you put the higher amperage alternator in there, and it originally had 150A? Any information is appreciated.
I was getting the high voltage warning on the dash, so I've read that it might be the regulator, but as long as I have to take the intake manifold off, I might as well replace the whole unit. Its got about 94K miles on it. Thank you.
